Since 1996 Nelson has made over 20 personal 'angel' investments in new and developing companies.
These include;

• Tissue Science Laboratories (life sciences, floated on AIM in 2002)
• Optos (medical devises, main market flotation February 2006)
• Oregon (timber frame house manufacturer, now with a turnover of over £15m)
• I Play (games for mobile devices)
• Scapa (software)
• Excell Biotech (manufacture of monoclonal antibodies and other material for clinical trials, sold to Q Biogene of Canada in 2002).
